Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

What I did to my SVX this weekend: Drove it. Took the silver on a 250 mile jaunt. Smooth and strong. The old gal still pulls like a freight train. (Gotta fix that rattling heat shield, though.) Frosty AC in the 97 degree heat.

Venturing slightly off-topic:

After waiting for three years to own the Silver, when would I ever be inspired to drive the Pearly?

More like, what did my son do for the SVX today. Finally, some decent rear struts.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Got the SVX aligned for autoX duty yesterday and today I'm bolting on the race wheels and tires for a two day autoX event this weekend. Tomorrow, some brake work and clean-up before I leave.

On the Legacy, I'm replacing the cabin air filter so she doesn't feel left out

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Painted the calipers yesterday:

And this is my "factory looking" power mode mod. Had an spare switch cluster so I put it on the right side. The parking light one is for Power Mode, and the other is still free for something in the future. Now I just need to see if I can paint them to label them different:

Mine is the thumb button on the shifter . The amazingly useless manual button's been moved under the ashtray.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Well I replaced the leaking power steering pump from my burgundy 92 with the pump from my 92 parts car..only to find out that it is also leaking from somewhere else that I have not investigated yet.
On a more positive note I picked my ebony 96 up the other day from they paint shop. And no I did not get a Maaco paint job either. Spent $5,000 and well worth it. They took every single teenie tiny dent out and painted my windshield wipers and the guy even took my impossible to remove water spots off my windows. The paint job has a lifetime warranty for anything weather related like oxidation. I'm super happy about this!!!

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Replaced the rear diff fluid and did an oil change. Adjusted the parking brakes. Got her washed and filled with a tankful of premium and some injector cleaner for the 3 hour journey to my first autoX since 2008 and only the second time in my 5 speed SVX.

Wish me luck!

Todd
