Then move the driveshaft aside and secure it to , say the exhaust so that it does not rub against the spinning read diff flange. If you are NOT using a tow dolly, let us know as the procedure is different.

Re: Disconnecting Rear Driveshaft for Towing ?
Be careful because the car will drag the back bumper on the ground easily, they warn you in the owners manual about it. I've seen this happen with a SVX on a tow truck.

A tow dolly will not generate nearly a steep enough angle to cause the rear bumper to scrape. ![]() Mike

Re: Disconnecting Rear Driveshaft for Towing ?
No it wouldn't, but I felt it should be noted as useful and relevant information should anyone be reading or come across the thread searching for what they might need to do if they were going to tow the car with 2 wheels off the ground, in case someone disregarded the warning about doing so because they assumed that it was simply because of the AWD. I experienced this exact thing happen when someone had their FWD 94 towed to me, the back bumper was ground down and the exaust was damaged. The owner had to pay to have it fixed, and he said he knew that the car wasn't supposed to be towed that way but that he thought that applied to AWD models only.

Re: Disconnecting Rear Driveshaft for Towing ?
Not only but also. If it is a VTD AWD, you can't tow it any distance at all, on the rear or front wheels. It will destroy the center diff.

![]() However, if a late model Australian model VTD is involved, and a claimed change in the C solenoid valve is correct, the centre diff. clutch could certainly suffer in a big way, depending on a build up of pressure.
