transmission fluid
When taking the the transmission out there will be some fluid coming out.
I was wondering at 260,000km would flushing the transmission do more harm than good? |

Re: transmission fluid
IMHO, a drain and fill wil not hurt.
I am not a fan of pressure flushing a transmission with an external pressure source.

Re: transmission fluid
ok. I kept hearing that changing the transmission fluid after a certain point can do more harm than good

Re: transmission fluid
being a auto technician...i have seen transmission flushes do more harm than good on high millage vehicles first hand... 260,000 i wouldnt try it.. go to subaru and get a transmission pan kit... comes with the filter and a gasket. then just drop the trans pan, clean it out, change the filter put it back up with the new gasket... and top her up... thatll change roughly half the fluid (maybe a little more) and give you a new filter... should be good to go... Then do what svxfiles says....drain and fill it every once in a while
