Is my offset too low to drop the car??
I am trying to figure out if my wheels will allow me to use dayles drop kit to lower the car, or whether the low offset of the wheels will cause rubbing when lowered.
The Scenario: 18" x 8" Enkei CP01's 38mm Offset 225/40/R18 Pirelli Pzero Nero Tires The springs: Motorsport SVX's 1.25" Front / .75" Back Drop Springs http://svx-motorsport-accessories.st...opsprings.html Does anyone have comment on whether these will fit together or not? Also, does anyone have pictures or info on the K&B drop springs?

It will probably rub in the back. If not during normal driving, everytime you hit a bump.

I'd guess those wheels would rub. I've got 42mm offset 8" wide wheels, and I certainly don't have more than 1-2mm of clearance. The 38mm offset would be really pushing it as it would make that gap even smaller. You can always get new wheels

Tom DOES have a point...the chicks do dig the car:P Is there any definitive way of finding out whether they will rub...i really want that front gap gone....and what about rolling the fender lining in...not that I really know what that entails

You'll probably have to add camber bolts to the rear and then run at least a degree of negative camber front and back to keep the tires from rubbing -- educated guess.

You could always try adding 300lbs in your trunk (or 2 large passengers in the back) to see if you can get the tires to rub while driving.

Bring them up to me. I got the springs on my car. I can also test the traction of your tires.

If you don't have time to do the other stuff, I'll measure my current clearance and give you some calculations that should give a good indication as to rubbing with drop springs.
If you're worried about gettin the ladies, you could buy my old Konig Flights. Check May on the SVX calendar for undeniable visual proof of sexyness Juuust kidding...one is cracked. You can still buy them though...smokin' deal if you know where u can get them fixed!!

they will probably rub on the rear if you have more then
one passenger. My Murano wheels are 7" wide with a +38mm offset and that car has my springs in it, on hard bumps on the freeway it will slightly rub, you can hear it, although theres no damage. With 8" wide wheels like you are asking, it will be a little closer. Mine doesnt bother me near enough to worry about it but I rarely ever have more then one passenger in my car, even with a 2.5 yr old in the baby seat in the back its not a problem. The rear lip is pretty wide, you can carefully fold it upwards to add about 1/4" of clearance, which helps alot.
