Re: Hijack this thread: The Sequel!!

I just had to move a coworker's Cadillac XLR... Not impressed.

It took me 2 minutes to shut the darned thing off, and another minute to figure out how to get out of the thing. After having my battery die at a stoplight a couple of weeks ago I can't imagine owning this thing in a few years. The door handles are all electric buttons! I can just picture getting a short, engine and battery die, and you're trapped in the thing unable to get doors, windows, roof to open. Death trap.

My next car: Carbs, points ignition, mechanical fuel pump, etc. No more of this techno crap which renders a car useless after a few years.

Re: Hijack this thread: The Sequel!!

While the XLR could indeed be entertaining to be trapped in... could you imagine being trapped in it whilst Rick Astley was blasting away? And you can't find the OFF button?

Meanwhile, back at the ranch... we're getting snow here now...

I know, right? I've just been jonesin for a 5speed, and this car costs less than retrofitting the SVX. I've owned 8 cars in my life, and 6 were Subarus, but this baby's like a turbo justy. What's not to love?

Mazda...then again, my brother owned a 626 from '83 and we beat the hell out of it. It ran till the day it went to pull-apart. Best 200 bucks he ever spent.

Re: Hijack this thread: The Sequel!!

I've seen two 1000HP cars in traffic in the last day! Last night I saw a blue (not two tone) Veyron driving the opposite direction on the PCH, then this morning I was followed by a yellow Lingenfelter Corvette all the way up the beach. Got a crappy cell phone pic of the 'Vette when it finally passed me, but missed my chance to get the Bugatti on camera. That was the third Veyron I've seen on my commute in the last year. Maybe I'll do up a thread like the AK Auto Diversity thread with cars I see on the PCH.

Re: Hijack this thread: The Sequel!!

Where is everybody? It's like the whole network just went to a party or something.

My office's resident GM fanboi informed me that the Lingenfelter I spotted was most likely the measly 800Hp version. So only one 1000Hp car spotted in 24hrs, but I did see a Ford GT last night driving home. Good looking car for a Ford.
