Definitely a stupid question.. Axle cap?
Need to re-boot the axle on pass side. Anybody have any good tricks for removing the cap? Tried to pry it off with a lil screwdriver, a chisel etc etc.. No luck, thinking about threading a bolt in to pull it off? What am I missing here? lol

Re: Definitely a stupid question.. Axle cap?
should just be a matter of tapping it out with a screw driver and hammer or chisel and hammer works well, once you get the cap seperated a little a screwdriver can pull it the rest of the way off. Soak it with lube PB blaster or WD-40 may help. Also don't tap straight down you kind of have to tap from an inside to outside direction. Cap would be pretty replace-able though if you do end up damaging it.

C4!
I usually start the removal with a gasket scraper, and as soon as I geta gap started, use a screwdriver to pry it off.

Re: Definitely a stupid question.. Axle cap?
I've just used a sharp (alright, maybe a little less sharp now) chisel. I've seen a few at work that were stuck real well, but they all come out in the end, although they're generally so mutilated that they will never be used again.
