O2 sensor (Bosch or Nippon Denso)
Ok, I am looking for opinions based upon peoples real world experiences with changing their O2 sensors. My daily driver SVX that sat for many years with a broken tranny from a previous owner needs both O2 sensors replaced. I can get the Bosch for $50 or the Denso for $100. Has anyone had experience with either and can I get away with getting Bosch ones for half price? I am after all a broke college student (uhh.. make that system administrator) .
Any information would be greatly appreciated and likely informative.

To make the installation easy, buy the O2 sensors with the plugs, not the ones that need splicing.

The Bosch plug and play for $91.00, from Advance Auto Parts seem to be as good as the $103.00 factory Subaru O2 sensors.
I HATE the splice universals.

If the O2 sensors are shot, the check engine light comes on, correct?

Replaced mine yesterday night with the universal Bosch splice style of O2 sensor. Took about an hour total to do the whole swap and splice. Very easy with the help of a 7/8 and liquid wrench.

I have an impact rated O2 socket and a large rattle gun if needed.

An air gun will most likely spin out the threads. Take your time and go back anf forth, working the O2 sensor out.

Are the Denso sensors plug and play? And are they any good?
Thanks Dustin
