Re: Car Crashed, Trying to

I found a cheap quarter panel, if I pull it myself. Finding a door will be tough tho, painting it isn't an issue tho. Anyone know where to get a cheap passenger side door.

Nate has parts cars at my dealership in Erie, PA. Make a list of what you need, and I'm sure he has everything!

You have to drill out all of the spot welds then chisel it from the car, then re spot weld it to yours once yours is removed. It's time consuming and not easy but it can be done. You should also see how much of it you can pound out before getting a quarter panel.

Re: Car Crashed, Trying to

If you could post a picture of the damage, the body experts here can give you an indication as to how fixable the quarter panel is. It's definitely worth trying to save it as replacing it is major work.

+1 Pulling the dents back out and proper prep and fill will be much less labor intensive and much easier. Or cutting and patching just the damage sections with fresh metal from a donor.

I think I'm short on rust free doors at the moment, especially ones out here actually in PA with me but I'd be willing to let you have a door that has the typical rust behind the cladding if you would want to patch them at all. And I definitely have fenders. As I said, the quarter panels are tricky, but if you want me to make "cuts" of what you need, that is more than doable

I posted pics of the damage a few posts back, but I can get some closer pics if needed. It isn't awful, I can't get the passenger door open at all at this point tho

Thanks!!! I don't believe the door is salvageable, so ill have to take ya up on that. I've gotta talk with my biddy who actually knows what he's doing and see what route he wants to take with the repairs. Is getting the window and electronics out easy?

It is... medium. Not too easy, but quite doable with common car knowledge and tools. The only real thing is to take care not to scratch the glass. Post here when it comes time to do it and I'll walk you through it if you need.
