Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Some things just finished to my son's SVX. Installed a 4.44 1998 Legacy Outback tranny and a 2005 Forester 4.44 rear diff. Also, new front axleshafts and rear upgraded polyurethane rear differential bushings purchased from Earthworm several years ago. The 4.44 parts courtesy of Jason--quality parts at a good price.

I did the work myself and it was my first time to attempt this. Had to make a jack adapter to serve as a tranny jack to install it----but it worked and is in and runs GREAT.

Michael, thanks for that. Very helpful to keep around.

I actually have one of those Stebro stickers from way back. I've been looking for a place to put it.

Cool stuff

Washed the SVX. I haven't driven it in about 2.5 months, but I try to get all the bird/squirrel/tree **** off it every couple of weeks.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

I bought her

...well, that's what I would have said nearly two weeks ago, but my account was in activation limbo, so all I did today was drive to work!

1992 touring model, with Silver and Black paint scheme. She's not in the best of shape, but the dings were nice because they brought the price down without affecting my opinion of the car. Better than the Range Rover she's replacing, definitely. I just need to install new CV axles (ordered), do a minor tune up (spark plugs and filters, as the belts are in great shape), and figure out why the driver's side speakers don't work and I'll be good to go.

Welcome fellow Liquid Silver owner! The front speakers can get a some damage from water that seeps in from the window. If you replace them you can cover them with foam baffles to prevent it from happening again. I suppose your radio or wiring could be bad too.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Thanks for the welcome! I'm guessing that it's some fault in the wiring, as it's not just the front driver's side speaker, it's the entire left half of the car that lacks sound. The passenger can't tell that anything is amiss, of course!

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Well, resoldered the MAF and new wiper blades.

Also a very busy week. New front brakes from NAPA, drilled and slotted rotors w/ pads. Put the BBS's back on with new Nitto Motivos.

Is that the one that was being used as a pizza delivery car last year? Has a black hood or fender if I remember correctly.

It has a black hood, but I don't believe it to be the pizza delivery car. It spent last year without a title. I should get that hood painted properly, though...
