yeah but with the new motor he is only seeing 6.5psi of boost. There is a significant amount more flow as far as i know now. i need to get mine done this weekend in order to compare....

Speaking of. My head studs from ARP showed up today. Yesterday I got my block halves together and my odd piston rings cut and all 3 pistons loaded. Today I plan to finish the even side and get the studs in the block. I also plan on doing the porting to my exhaust side of the heads. If all is finished in a timely manner I will have the heads installed on the motor. Only thing I am waiting on now is my intake cams which should be in the mail... Lets hope they are here by saturday. I still plan on pulling the motor out of the car this weekend and begin moving the s/c parts over onto the built motor. This weekend should be a doozy if the cams come

Well... the short block went together with ease. Installed the ARP head studs, sealed them to the block. Installed the rebuild heads and torqued the arp studs to 72ft lbs using the Moly lube they supply. You could also tq them as far as 93 ft lbs if you used 30 weight oil but I'd rather us the moly as it is meant for it.... Long block is almost complete... tomorrow I finish up as far as I can go with the motor and then I pull the car in to begin removal of the old one.... Fingers crossed on those intake cams

Great to hear. Glad the ARPs fit. Did the sealer and lube come with the kit? Mine has not arrived yet. I went ground.

DYNO Results

Well I got to the dyno today and did three pulls. The numbers were bad but there are a few issues to be resolved. One, I need more fuel pressure ( i.e buy a walbro and an adjustable FPR), Two, there was a possible boost leak and or belt slippage, and three the leak in the exhaust needs to be fixed. The leak was causing their AFR numbers to be skewed. The one good thing is that we seem to have corrected the curves with the new cam profiles. The curves look great ( they just need to move up a lot)

Sorry in advance that they are just photos of the charts. My scanner is not compatible with Vista.

Significant Technical Input
Pretty good for 5 and half pounds boost. It looks like the engine is making torque out to 5750 rpms--below that the torque looks to corelate with the falling boost. When boost falls as RPMs go up it's usually due to belt slippage. Don't forget with blowers the belt doesn't squeel when it slips. You have to watch the boost and look for powder in the engine bay. By the looks of those plots, put the larger crank pulley on and tighten up the belt and we should see some big numbers.

Welp.... the old smokey motor is out and I am in the process of cleaning, resealing, and swapping all the parts over... No cams yet Or else I'd still be at the garage abusing myself to get it done faster
