I started mine up and drove it around the block the other day after 3 months of just sitting.

http://youtu.be/i7x4wFMZBpo

Before that I replaced the battery, terminals, steering rack, and lower L control arm.

Still have yet to check dealer prices on a fender for comparison. I just can't seem to remember. It's the only thing I need aside from body work and paint.

The terminals look great. Where did you pick those up from?

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

I have been looking for years and Ebay is the best place. Local places stopped stocking things like this due to lack of market demand.
these terminals are larger than I thought so my jumper cables don't fit. I had to just hold the teeth to it to jump my FEZ, so beware.

Thumbs up Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Brought my '92 home on the hook after it donated its drive shaft anf transfer case to my '97, which is having the transfer case rebuilt and new front brake calipers. It's been 2 months but I should be driving again next week.
And it'll have a Bontrager RSB!

I installed the quick shift kit and DAMN! With a new coil, new spark plugs and power mode, I think I'm about to cry Thanks Harvey!

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Replaced OEM rotors and brakes in 97 with silver zinc plated rotors and Bendix thermoquiet pads from Advance auto, painted calipers, flushed brake fluid with ATE Blue. Painted the removed rotors, put into the 92 Ebony, painted calipers, purged brake fluid again with the blue ATE. Changed rear diff fluid with M1 75/90. Ordered Derale ATF thermostat for front mounted cooler.
Bypassed radiator cooler on silver 92, installing temp gauge...cooler on silver is mounted in fender wing, with SPA fan thermostat controlled, filter also in wing...purging the ATE blue with Valvoline DOT4

So, the Black now has silver and blue, and the Silver has gold?!

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Picked up the SVX from paint shop. Had the roof and spoiler redone. I'll post better pics later. Now its off to the mechanic to replace the leaking PS return pipe and do something about the rusted out exhaust connections.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Drove my '97 home today.

I'd brought it in on May 1 to have a slow leak in a tire looked after.

Ten weeks and several dollars later, its had the transfer case rebuilt (with the housing from the '92), a new awd solenoid and clutch pack, the drive shaft replaced with the one from the '92, a front brake caliper replaced and rotor machined, recharged the a/c, and fixed the slow leak.
While they were at it, they installed the rear sway bar I got from Nevin.

Should be good to go!!

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Monday, on the way home, the rubber clutch line suddenly started leaking. Like, pedal really soft and if you hold it in too long, pressure is lost and you have to let it out and push it back in. Drove 10 miles, almost without using the clutch at all. 6-speed didn't enjoy it (only ground a wee bit), but I made it home. Helped that there was no traffic because it was at like 2 AM. Checked the line out when I got home; I think it's the one that was originally with the 6-speed, which is an 02 JDM one. So, 10 years, sounds like time for the line to die. Ordered a stainless WRX line on ebay, got here yesterday, replaced it last night, bled the clutch, good to go.

The stainless line feels a lot better than the rubber one. Much more control over the clutch now, and takes less pedal movement to get the same amount of clutch release. I was a wee bit nervous about the proximity to the + line on the starter, and it being conductive now instead of rubber, so I bent the metal line a bit to get it a bit farther away. Works great, but it makes an ugly mess of line in there now. Next time the car's all taken apart, I'll see if I can have a nicer looking full stainless steel line made instead.

Now I'm waiting for the next thing to go wrong...
