Re: $5, 5 minute droopy visor fix
When I got my car the previous owner had already gone the velcro route. I've since had to shore it up a little bit to make it stick better, but from all observations it's been like that for a while. And I have ABSOLUTELY NO headliner droop. None. At all. Whatsoever. If I had $150 laying around you bet I'd get a new visor. But for now my velcro mod works just fine.

I also removed my (non-droopy) visors and, instead, rely on a vinyl band on the windshield to block the sun for me.

Re: $5, 5 minute droopy visor fix
Magnets are a great idea Trevor. The good lady of the house tought me that a dab of clear nail polish will prevent any unraveling of the cloth.

I believe the magnets were my idea...Trevor just added that maybe you could place one under the headliner cloth

Re: $5, 5 minute droopy visor fix
Well finally I am starting to experience some pull of the headliner, you might want to modify this idea by putting one of the magnets under the headliner, it will make it harder to glue though

Re: $5, 5 minute droopy visor fix
When I got my pearlie two years ago, it was missing the driver's side visor and the passenger side was held up with velcro. The P.O. said he would fix it before I took the car, and he did, sorta. The driver's side now has a droopy visor, and the passenger side has one that stays up, but the headliner is pulled apart above it. I asked my upholstery guy if it could be fixed, and he said the fix was replacing the entire headliner. He gave me a workaround, however. A few long straight pins, the kind clothing manufacturers use to stab you with when you open a new shirt, pushed not straight up into the headliner, but back (to the rear) in the recess where the visor fits has stopped most of the sagging. The ideal thing, short of a complete (expensive) headliner replacement, would be to use some sort of hypodermic needle to inject glue between the liner and its backing. I'm looking for the right combination of tool and materials. And the driver's side liner is starting to come down, just from age, so I'm eventually going to have to find some sort of fix.

Re: $5, 5 minute droopy visor fix
Well yes you did say it would pull loose shortly, it took over a month and it started to pull a little bit. At least I'm trying something here

Re: $5, 5 minute droopy visor fix
Just discovered another inexpensive fix. Install a 3/4 inch binder clip between the visor and side headliner trim. The black spring fits nicely between the two, with one clip slipped into the headliner trim and the other holding the visor. Enough flex to be able to pull the visor down when needed.
