I was in Juneau last summer. Talked to a heavy set guy who looked to be in his early 20s about the car he was delivering pizza with. Said it drove great but asked what transmissions might be available from other Subarus The leather interior was in really poor shape.

Welcome & enjoy the ride!

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Changed oil and filter to Mobil 1.

I strained it and found nothing in it. It is a beautiful bronze.

So, my question: Why not reuse it in one of my old rides like my 300k 4Runner or my 200k Astro? Looks like almost new oil to me, no loss of viscosity but I'm just eye-balling it.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

it may look perfectly fine the the additives like zinc and nickel have probably fallen out and attached themselves to bearings and such.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Installed a CounterActRust, system in the hopes that it will slow the process of bio-degrading enough to buy me a few more years until I have the money to repair it properly. http://counteractrust.com/ I know that many claim that it is "snake oil" so I have taken pictures of the current size of rust bubbles and will check if they grow over the next year.

Completely stripped and refurbished the electric antenna from my SVX.

Silky smooth instead of crunchy noisy.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Drove my 92 with 200,000+ miles on it from my house in CT to my new house in TN.
She made for a good ride for being 21 years old, no doubt the new struts helped with the horrible PA highways.
It took 14 hours with just a few bathroom breaks, traffic in VA sucked...
Stopped for gas twice when the tripometer was at 300miles, took ~11 gals to fill up, so ~27mpg.

Made it here with no issues.
