AMR Coilovers
I just contacted AMR by IM today and they said that they are still making them. They said the wait time is about 3 to 4 weeks.
I'm still thinking about ordering a set. Any thoughts? Also, the springs I saw on ones that have been made were 350 front and 250 rear. Is that a standard spring rate for our application? Thanks.

Re: AMR Coilovers
AMR coilovers are still very good, but there has been issues for the past year regarding timely delivery (akin to Stebro).
Also 350/250 lb equates to about 6.5/4.5 kg springs, which should be fine for street use. I have 7/5 kg springs (roughly 400/300 lb), and some forum members prefer 8/6 kg.

Re: AMR Coilovers
I don't get it, why do you guys lower the car? I would prefer to raise the car. But then again, that's just me.

Most speed bumps are never a problem if there are no passengers in the car, but one time I was stopped dead by a speed bump. My tow hooks were already bent in half but they still hung up on the speed bump. After that no fat chicks are allowed to ride in the car!

Re: AMR Coilovers
Are you running oversized tires? Again, I didn't have these problems and I still had the fender liners in place. Tires never rubbed against them either.

Re: AMR Coilovers
Oh, the +38 offset is causing the rubbing. I'm running 10 spoke STI wheels which are close to stock offset.
Just roll your fenders. ![]()

If Andy still has his shop in the US, I think he's in your region and you could pay a visit. If you're willing to be patient and tolerant, I believe they are well worth it. It looks like his company has grown. He has a real website and expanded services. I'm wondering if his company has grown to the point where he has employees to help him do the kind of things he hasn't been so great at in the past. If so, they may get the coilovers to you quickly. Quality product though, IMO, has always been there. |
