How low do you have the car sitting? Going up just a small amount may decrease some of the stiffness.

Steve and I did the install of these together. The coilovers are really well made, and obviously high quality from the moment you pick them up - made in the USA.

These are definitely a better option than the koni/gcs, and I might actually pick up a set for myself one of these days if I've got some extra cash.

The front brakeline bracket on the coilover has a bigger captive nut than stock. I am not sure the thread size, but some extra random SVX bolts I had with 14mm heads fit perfectly (the stockers are 12mm heads). The hole in the mounting bracket of both Steve's stainless steel brake lines was too small for the 14mm bolt to fit through, so we had to drill them out. Some old rubber brake lines I had lying around which I assume are OEM would have had the same small problem. (This is an extremely tiny issue, just something I want to note so the next guy to install a set is prepared).

We set the firmness of the struts at a little firmer than halfway. I counted 8 clicks soft to hard, so we put them at 3 clicks from fully hard. I think I'd go a click or two softer, after the test drive, but that's something for Steve to play around with until he finds what he likes best. The springrates of his are 350 front and 250 rear (lb/in), which I think is great for a street car, but Steve found a little harsh. Steve's car already has had one of Nevin's RSBs, and with the coilovers, corners very flat. We made it really low, also - probably too low in the rear. Lower than mine in the rear. If you like the look of the back tires tucked into the wheel wells, then it's good. I think Steve will prefer the slightly-tilted-forward look, and raise up the rears some, and I kind of prefer that look too.

One more note - the coilovers shipped with the rears really short so they could fit into the box; make them around the height of the stock ones before you put them on the car, then adjust from there.

It is definitely possible and a good idea IMO to put a little hole in the panel above the adjusters for the rear struts. The adjuster that comes with them is basically a little allen key with a knurled thumbscrew attached, and the whole thing threads onto the top of the strut, so they don't get lost. Nifty little things, but one could use a regular allen key, for the extra length, to reach from a very small hole in the interior panel. A hole big enough to fit your fingers through to turn the little adjuster thingy would be on the big side. Either way, you'd want to plug or cover the hole somehow. (Here's an idea: a pair of stock front tweeter grills. They would be the right size, the exact right interior color, and then it would just look like there are more speakers back there.)

For comparison, the blue one is on 450/375 koni/gcs, and lowered more in the front than the rear, and the black one is stock:

The pic of my car that icing posted is very low.
We actually raised it up more after that picture.

And tonite I lowered the stiffness all the way down.
I will drive it tomorrow and try to report back ttomorrow afternoon.

On a side note... if you guys ever get a chance to meet icing...

I couldn't agree more. Been down to meet him a few times never had the time to work on anything though.
How are the top mounts, front and rear? are they adjustable or no?

Thanks guys. Yea, there is never enough time for anything these days.

All the top mounts are fixed, and with the strut in the OEM location. But I don't think Steve's in need of that, and it would complicate getting an alignment.

Update: I heard back. Some scheduling problem occurred, but Andy is personally taking care of it. I have a feeling this upgrade will be as impressive of an improvement as the 5spd was for the car.

If you've got the money right now, do it. There's no knowing how long until something happens and they are no longer an option.

Ok... so I just picked up my car from enjuku racing.
They adjusted the coilovers.. aligned it... and replaced both rear wheel bearings.
I turned the knob to its softest position... much better.
Still a tad too stiff for me... but definitely not worth the expense to change the springs.
It is very very close to what I wanted.
Now the ride...
I have achilles sport atr summer tires on 18 inch rims.
I have nevins rear sway bar.
I have $10 mod 10 minute mod. (I think that is what it is called)
This thing handles as tight as my porsche did... maybe better!
Now I am very proud of the progress I have made with this car.
I invite anyone to drive it...
I bet you will be sold on the coilovers and the swaybar.

Paint next... scheduled for july 21... may do it sooner... impatient.

Why don't you just buy some Stance coilovers or something similar? Unlike us SVX owners, the major coilover companies actually make direct fit coilovers for your car.

Not really, the 01 legacy was the first chassis to get the multi-link rear end so it wasn't very popular as it was the only chassis line until 07 to have it.
