What kind of 5-speed did you use?
The transmission is from a 2003 forester. It's actually the transmission that was in Phil Gantz's turbo SVX. The person who bought that is upgrading to a WRX unit, so I made a deal for this one. I went with an ACT light flywheel, spec stage 2 clutch, and a kartboy shifter as well. The setup works great!

I had swapped my first SVX back in 2004 using a smallcar kit, and in my opinion it basically ruined the car. It was so incredibly full of suck. With a real crossmember, and no "rigging" it is fantastic in this car.

Nice. Pull clutch or push? Any driveability issues with the lightweight clutch?

It's a non-turbo push clutch. It was difficult getting used to how fast it revs, but now that I am used to it, I like it.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Today I got my SVX inspected for the first time in 4 years, and I got a set of tires installed (Michelin Pilot Sport 3).

Also snapped a couple of pics.

Changed my front swaybar end links. And noticed that my right front strut is leaking badly.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

i just finished installing some "new" (to this car ) older 6x9" speakers in the back of my pearlie
wow what a pita

also tried to fix the antenna as it doesn't go up and down
removed it and jumped to straight from the battery
turns out the motor is dead ... it just makes a singular click noise and does nothing
so i went old school (removed the inner part of the motor ) so now i have to pull it up or push it down
atleast i get good reception now

my antenna used to do that and it was worn out contacts on the limiting switches in the case. if it clicks the motor is working but it senses that it is at full travel and won't go any farther. just cleaned them and scuffed em and now it works fine.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

I just took the whole regulator/motor out. I don't listen to the radio much, so when I DO use it, the internal antenna works fine for picking up signal.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Got some Conti DWS's mounted on my old stock LGT wheels and put them on the FXT. They are going to be much easier to clean now.

radio signals are not very strong here , so every now and then at the bottom of hilly areas it drops out of reception , its not so much of an effort for me to pull it up and push it down ....
kinda makes it old school
