Megasquirt?

I see there was a post here a few years ago that didn't really go anywhere....anyone done it? or know Megasquirt well enough to say whether it'll work?

It would work, no problem, for air and fuel. The ignition is the tricky part...I'm not sure if anyone has figured out how to use the stock crank sensors with Megasquirt. I have not looked at this for some time though, so by now it may have been done.

I once megasquirted an XT/4 turbo but that already had a distributor so no ignition stuff was required.

It's a lot of fun and interesting to figure out the maps, etc..

As long as you can calibrate the sensors, you can use the newer megasquirts with whatever you want. It has been done by someone with an EG33 in a 2.5RS, but not in a well documented way, and the people who put the car together have since sold it, so probably not much help now.

yes all stock sensors. Modified the 12 tooth CAS to become a 12-1 and it works perfectly.

Having some dwell issues though, so will fit newer coils in an attempt to fix that.

CAS is crank angle sensor I'm guessing. Is that # 1 or 2? So you removed one tooth or what?

Yes crank angle sensor. There's 2, but it's the 12 evenly spaced tooth one. Then took off one tooth and told MS where that tooth had been. Uses it as a reference.

Interesting. I have only just scratched the surface of the MS stuff. Any way I could get you to post what you've made? Or maybe email it to me so I can have a look at it?

Post what I've made? do you mean in relation to the CAS wheel?

No I mean like the maps or whatever you edit on the computer to put on the MS.

(Sorry if it's really obvious that I have no idea how it works on the software side.)

Yes you can open them...
