Tranny swap question
I have a 1997 Subaru Legacy Brighton with a 2.2 engine. Does anyone know if that tranny can be used for my 1994 SVX or does it have to be an outback...
thanks

Re: Tranny swap question
This should provide the answer.
http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?t=55838 From my skimming I don't see why it wouldn't work. edit: looked it over some more and it doesn't list the 97 2.2L legacy specifically I saw the Legacy outback, so probably your best bet is to take a look at the tranny number and reference that with the list.

Re: Tranny swap question
It's a 4.11 transmission. It will work, but how long it will last is the tricky part. They've been known to fail under the increased torque and power of the SVX since there are much less friction discs in those transmissions.
