I wasn't trying to be insulting.

But the car will likely only be complete once.

Once it starts being salvaged, and broken down, it will likely never move under it's own power again. And they certainly aren't being made anymore.

There were plenty of these cars that were killed under cash for clunkers. There are plenty of them that get into accidents.

It is a shame to see a complete car get scrapped, needlessly, when efforts should hopefully be made to sell the car in a manner that will keep it whole, and rolling as long as possible.

Maybe getting a quote from a scrap yard to know what the base-line is... and a quote from a used car dealer who might be able to flip the car with a couple of minor repairs...

that would at least give you some numbers.

Then post the numbers here, and see if anyone is willing to give you a couple bucks more, to come and take it, and use it.

But SVXyGirl is right... it is your car. I just hate to see more of them on the scrap heap, just because a buyer isn't quickly available. They are better machines than that, even if buyers with $$$ are scarce right now.

Like I said... I wish I had the money to buy up the cars that can't find other buyers, and just keep as many of them rolling as possible, to supply for people who need an inexpensive good car, or for SVX fans who want parts cars, project cars, or to replace cars that actually do go to the great garage in the sky, so to speak. But I don't have the means to do that.

We should have a section for Haul it away . I am sure some of the members would give you the same $100 the scrap yard would give you and haul it out of there . Especially if it moves under its own power. The front seat is worth that much.

I bet it would go for $1,000+ on Ebay, if there are no takers here...I've seen complete beater SVXi (far worse than that) go for about that on there. Certainly a lot better alternative than scrapping it, plus it gets to stay on the road where it belongs.

Okay folks here's the deal.

The price for OEM parts is about 200-220 after shipping for a new waterpump and timing belt (for all die hard "it must be Genuine Subaru Parts" people)

If this doesnt sell for 800 by the end of the week Ill just fix it myself and sell it to ANYONE for 1100 bucks. That includes any would be wreckless teenager that comes with the money.

Again, im posting here to give the real entusiasts first pick.

800 bucks, signature, tow, and 4 hrs with a wrench (1.5 if you're OT or YT) and you will have a really nice daily driver.

I have 2 possible sales lined up for today.

1 is a 18 year old who's dad is taking his car because his (the fathers) car died on him.

The second is a guy from New York who said 1200 CASH. If he picks it up today he can have it for that.

The price right about now is hovering around 1300-1500 after negotiations.
I just want this thing gone...
