Cup Holders
Has anyone tried to mod some cup holders into their stero cage? I read somewhere that there was an optional part you could buy that was made for a ford/murcury that would fit into the cage and has a cup holder and a coin tray.

Yup, there's the cup/coinholder from a 92-95 Ford Taurus/Merc Sable. It fits into one stereo slot. So if you don't have a CD player, or you're running an aftermarket unit, this could fit. I think I saw someone who's done it somewhere.

I have on eof those, but I can't get it to fit right. YOu have to saw off the sides, and sand down different things further jsut to get it in, but it get's too tight so i cna only open the cup holder part of it with the help of something to stick under it to pull it out. The spring loaded part of it doesn't work when it's crammed in there too tight. I am struggling with sanding down the sides enough.

I remember when i was driving aroudn without a pasenger side airbag and using the hole for a chex mix and magazine holder....Pretty usless for cups
I installed a self leveling shock absorbing multiple position fully adjustable fits alll sizes deal.....Well, it installed itself even. It's my right hand You may want to look around at some cars with crazey weird folding cup holders and see if you can retrofit something to work

I installed on out of a 1st gen Legacy in the 94 L I used to have....it wasn't a direct bolt in, as it did require some modifications, but wasn't too hard to make work.
Worst thing is that is was only good for cans, as the design of the SVX stereo opening being recessed in the dash means that the cup holders wouldn't project far enough to let a cup clear the overhang above the stereo...but it did work great for cans. In my Pearl Yellow one, I use a Wedgie, as it's the cheapest easiest answer.
