Whining/Protesting Power Steering
Man, it didn't used to be noisey, but my PS is getting to be quite annoying. Not screeching, but just whining, and being really loud. Anyone know why? Seemed to have started in the colder weather.

Your symptoms are that of the failing o-ring. The o-ring between the reservoir and the pump deteriorates, allowing the pump to suck air and cause juttering at low speed full lock as well as whining. There is a "How To" in the "How To" personal locker as to how to change it. Even if it isn't the problem, it's a 3.00/30 minute (or less) job, which is an extremely cheap diagnostic.

Probably the infamous o-ring. Directions for replacement are found in the How-to locker.

Has been getting cold out by you? Get louder as it gets colder and more air enters the pump thru the space around the o-ring.
