PINEHURST Concours in NC

Had a great opportunity to attend the PINEHURST Concourse d ' Elegance in Pinehurst, NC this past weekend. Highlight of the event was when they drove Steve McQueen's 1956 Jaguar XKSS race car on the field. What a car - and now worth about $1M...... Makes me a little sad to see a woman with a big floppy hat in car like that Jag, and it's going so slow that she keeps the hat. So many fantastic driver's cars have been turned into $multi$-$million$ trailer queens over the past few years. Sigh. I mean, I like concours and all, but I would like it more if it included a few laps around the local road course.

Unfortunately not, Huck .... Just did not have the time. That said, the Dragon IS on my list of things to do

I can not disagree, but I do like the fact that these cars (trailer queens) are preserved - there were a couple that were "as found" with NO restorations at all. Interesting, but not my cup of tea .....
