Back in the game(?)
I say this with some giddiness and some reluctance, as 48 hours ago, I could not guess that I'd be the owner of another SVX today, or ever, really!
I received a call on Friday afternoon, from a SVX owner pleading with me to save his SVX from the scrapyard. What followed was a series of conversations that ended with me getting the keys and title yesterday morning. The car: 1992 Liquid Silver LS 200+k miles The skinny: It started right up and runs well, but needs some work to be roadworthy once again. The obvious problems are a broken driveshaft joint, non-functioning power steering, faulty shift lock unit, and the airbag light is illuminated. The car has a recent new radiator, timing belt service, new alternator, new Subaru battery, and a spare set of OEM wheels, and for the price, it was very hard to pass up. I'll likely fix the mechanical problems and drive it as a backup over the winter, and go from there. It will never be a show/garage queen like my Claret was, but I plan to enjoy it for a bit. (Also, backwards wheels!)   (I have not taken photos of the car yet, myself, as it is not home yet.)

Recently, my plans for this car have been stood on their head. My partner accepted a new job out in San Francisco, and we will be moving there on November 2nd. We're driving out in the Volvo, with our belongings in tow. Unfortunately, that will not include this SVX, as we will be within the city limits with no storage, parking, etc.
It's time to get the car drive-able, and put it up for sale.

I installed a used driveshaft in the car, did a once over, and got the car through NJ emissions inspection (yay no more 2010 sticker!) Drove it home last night, and despite some issues arising from its neglect, it was really nice to be behind the wheel of a SVX once again.
