92 LS-L 5-speed

Location of the SVX: Nescopeck, PA 18635

Year: 1992

Model: LS-L

VIN: JF1CX3539NH109178

Manufacture date: 02/92

Paint Color: Custom Dark Gray

Interior Color: Dark Gray / Black

Miles: 163,000+

Location: Nescopeck, PA 18635

Options: Typical options of an LS-L, leather seats, power drivers seat, power mirrors, etc..

AWD or FWD: AWD

Modifications: 5 speed conversion performed by the previous owner using a low mileage '04 WRX 5 speed transmission, custom paint job.

Major service: At 155,000 miles replaced engine with a low mileage engine, while replacing engine I replaced the timing belt, pulleys, water pump, serpentine belts, thermostat, spark plugs, exedy clutch kit, a/c recharge. Also at 155k I replaced the brake system with new calipers, brake pads, and cross-drilled and slotted rotors as well as purging and replacing the lines with new fluid. Also installed 4 brand new Falken Ziex 912 as well as the custom paint job at 155k miles. The exhaust was upgraded with a custom exhaust by the previous owner, sounds great but I think it has a small hole or two that could use patched up.

Engine Condition: Replaced with low mileage engine (see Major Service)

Maintenance Records: Previous owner informed me that around 130k miles the wheel bearings where replaced. Also that there was a chip installed in the ECU but I'm not sure exactly what it was.

Transmission condition: 5 speed '04 WRX transmission shifts well and has no issues that I am aware of.

Glass condition: All glass is in good condition.

Type of tire and remaining tread: Falken Ziex 912, approx 10,000 miles on them.

Type of wheels: 17" American Racing polished wheels

Interior condition: Good condition, a few minor scratches on some of the panels from normal wear and tear. Not too many cracks in the leather seats but the drivers side has peeled back a little up just below the headrest but the seats are in good condition.

Body condition: Body is in great condition, two very small scratches on the passenger side door on the door handle due to someone opening a car door into mine, otherwise body and paint are in excellent condition.

Known defects or problems: There were all sorts of issues when I purchased the car a few years back that the previous owner never disclosed to me so I am going to be as honest as I can be with what I know are the issues, which there really are not too many issues with the car but keep in mind it is 18 years old. The temperature gauge intermittently runs on the cold side after driving for a while it will eventually stabilize at the midpoint. Not really an issue was just surprised when my other SVX's did not do this. Sometimes the heat doesn't seem to want to work well until I start driving the car, not sure if it's an airflow issue or just something like a coolant sensor (I will probably be replacing the coolant sensor with a new one soon anyways). I get an intermittent check engine light which comes up with the code for an o2 sensor, I haven't changed the o2 sensors yet but I probably will purchase them and replace them within the next week or so. Door jams and trunk area was not repainted with the paint job, I was going to have this done but haven't had the chance to do this yet.

Comments about the car: All in all this is a great car and I do not have to sell it. I am listing it to see if there is any interest as I have just moved and have two project SVX's that I will eventually be working on. If no real interest I will keep it as I currently use it for my daily driver. Ultimately if I can get the right price I will part with it, otherwise thanks for looking. Any questions let me know.

Asking price: Not sure what to ask for this, I have seen some other manual svx's being listed and selling for anywhere between 3000 and 7000 so I will just see if anyone has a realistic offer for me.

Not so much but I guess it depends on what you have to trade.

Re: 92 LS-L 5-speed

1. Where did the new engine come from? What does "low mileage" mean? Documentation?
2. Still have stock wheels?
3. I can't seem to figure out imageshack. Is it just the one picture or are there "next picture" buttons I'm not seeing?

The "new" engine came from a 92 SVX that I purchased to restore as the body is not in the greatest condition and the transmission began acting up. This SVX had around 100k miles on it so to some it may not be low mileage but I considered it lower mileage for what is generally out there. I still have to stock wheels with some bald tires on them in my garage, was planning to keep them but am negotiable with them. I will post some other pictures I recently took in a few moments.

Re: 92 LS-L 5-speed

If you click on this link I have four other pictures I was able to take last weekend, the lighting was bad and it was from my camera phone but it still shows how nice this car is. http://img716.imageshack.us/g/svxback.jpg/

I guess it depends upon what you would have to trade as to if I would be interested or not.

What color was this originally? I am just wondering because you said the jams have not been sprayed.
