92 Ebony in Maine...
Price reduced!
1992 Ebony. 187k mostly highway miles, very well taken care of. I really do not want to sell this car, but unfortunately I need the money! The car is in great shape, the engine is incredible. Regular oil changes even though the oil stays completely clean all the time. All of you here already know how good these engines are... In the summer gets 24-26mpg, less in the winter. I guess the mpg's aren't bad for a car with this much "go". Unfortunately I drive a lot and get 45-50mpg with my 87 CRX-HF. Of course the SVX is MUCH faster and more fun! Two sets of wheels/tires. The wheels on now (blizzaks) that are good for another season. The stock wheelset (not in the pics) have Dunlop Wintersport M3's that are a bit worn but probably good for one more summer (they are ok for highway, but rather squirmy for cornering). So next year you may want a new set of summer or all-seasons. The bike rack is specially ordered from Australia, as a good one for the SVX is not available in the U.S. It cost a lot, I forgot how much but over $400 I've spent a lot this car. Here is a partial list of things I've done (or had done), listed in reverse chronological order: New brake rotors & pads, 12-09 Replaced starter, 07-09 New PWR radiator, timing belt, idlers, PS pump O-ring, water pump, valve cover gaskets, 06-09 Stabilizer bar links, 04-09 New (both) rear wheel bearings & seals, early 09 New O2 sensors (2), & knock sensors (2), early 09 New TCU, which fixed slow awd engagement, 04-08 Transmission oil flush, 05-08 New windshield, 06-07 Replaced front differential, 03-07 New power steering rack, 2005 I bought the car at 115k miles, it had a warrantied tranny replacement at 90k. Shifting is strong, once in a while when rolling along slowly it will slightly delay the shift from 2nd to 3rd (or is it from 1st to 2nd?) allowing the engine to rev slightly. If accelerating this DOES NOT happen, only when going slow. It has done this ever since I got it. When accelerating normally or in "Power" mode, the shifting is always perfectly fine. Sheesh...now that I add all this up I can't believe I'm going to sell it...:-( Other extra stuff I have for the car: Touch-up paint Spare new CV boots Front wheel bearing & seals Transmission oil cooler (never installed) Transmission fluid temp gauge (never installed) The rear wing...I took it off for better rear visibility and less weight. I think it looks better without it anyway. Spare AC compressor More stuff that I've forgotten. Looking for $2500. PM me, or call 207-443-3743 (price reduced, bike rack not included) Thanks for looking, Bruce

Re: 92 Ebony in Maine...
It would help if you go to the sticky and use the template for the SVXs. Thanks.

Re: 92 Ebony in Maine...
It has been slow, but give it some time. That is a decent price. Good luck.

Re: 92 Ebony in Maine...
So....is being in Maine simply too far out of the way for everyone? Flights to PWM (Portland) are pretty cheap now...or I'm willing to deliver fairly far for negotiable gas/travel $.
This car is a good deal. Just sayin...

Re: 92 Ebony in Maine...
If my power steering rack turned out to be bad ( it turned out to be a rusted high press line ) I would have jumped on it, looks great . No inside shots or did I miss them? Do the door locks and alarm still work?

Re: 92 Ebony in Maine...
If I wasn't trying to buy a house right now I'd jump all over that. That would be one hell of a drive home, but damn it would be fun

Re: 92 Ebony in Maine...
Thanks folks. Maybe something will shake loose soon.
Not home this week, on a sales trip out west (well, hopefully I'll sell something!). But when I get back will take and post some interior shots. Window switches all work great...I forgot to mention that I've replaced the driver's side window switch unit. No power locks though, apparently never had them

Re: 92 Ebony in Maine...
the 92's didn't have the switch, you just simply press down on the part on the door and the passenger side automatically locks. Then when you get out of the car, you have to lift up on the handle as you close the door or the lock pops back up
Still is power locks When you unlock the driver's side door from the outside, the passenger side also unlocks |
