Got Orders
Im going to Ankara Turkey for 15 months. I dont have to be there till june 2003. Being in the Air Force I know at some point I would have to pull a short tour away from wife and kids, but hadnt relly thought about being away from the SVX for that long. hehehe. yup, the SVX will be staying stateside. Not sure if there is even a subaru dealer in Turkey. I will keep an eye out and see if they have any SVX items that we dont know about.. but im not holding my breath.
So... What do I want to do for storing the SVX? Or should I let my wife drive it like once a month? And finally.. anyone else ever been to Turkey? would love to know more about it. Thats all 4 now. c u later Chris |

How safe do you want to keep it stored?
Many people I know from MCOA (Mustang Club of America) will let the car sit on its own suspension, not on blocks, but with scrap tires on it. Some will go as far as to spray the undercarriage and engine compartment with oil to protect from surface rust. Although very messy to clean up when you get home, it works well. The basics, fill up the tank (not as important with the SVX's plastic tank) add sta-bil or other fuel storage additive, lubricate all the rubber seals so they don't dry against the car and rip when you open the door a year and a half later. Wash and wax the car. Cover is optional, but I would reccomend it. Good Luck and stay safe in Turkey. Doug
