I’m not interested in selling anyone a specific part at this time so please don’t ask; it’s a package deal at the moment. Any parts that the buyer doesn’t want or need may be posted at a later date. Additional parts included, not yet installed: - rear diff bushings from Entsteele. This was for an upgrade – the stockers are still fine - new rear tail light seals - new Subaru center console (under the armrest) button - spare Subaru temp sensor Asking price: $4700 I’m working on the pics this weekend, so be patient – they’ll be up soon. I have driven this car and can vouch for how well the MT swap was done along with everything else on the car. Gads is a perfectionist and whoever gets this car will get endless enjoyment out of it.

Wow...I hate to hear you're selling it...
And I can say this is a very nice 5-speed SVX, and has been very well maintained. What are you looking to get? My Wife's Forester S 5-speed with the Preimium package is going up for sale soon...(loaded, heated seats and all)....but bet you're looking at Beemers

Beemer? Where's my gray poupon?
Huck,
Whatever I get has to be well rated by the IIHS (wife's requirements). I don't buy new cars, so anything with some warranty left on it or a good CPO will work. Oh, and it has to have a manually tranny. My short list: - 2006 Saab 9-3 Sport Combi: Great deals used, they depreciate like no ones business, but working on them can be a nightmare. You have to lower the engine out of the car a bit to replace the alternator. - 2005 and up Legacy preferably wagon, preferably GT. I test drove a 2005 GT auto and was really disappointed with it. It had 60K miles and the suspension was either shot or the Legacy is just a large car and I'm not used to the body roll. - 2006 and up Honda Civic Si sedan - I have a soft spot for high strung Honda 4cyl's. Test drove a few, but all of the Honda dealers treat you like they're doing you a huge favor by taking your money. - I do love beemers, but they're still a bit rich for my blood. You can get them cheap when they get some serious miles on them, but then their maintenance becomes very expensive. - 2006 and up Audi A3 - with the 2.0T, this thing's rated to get better mileage than the Civic Si. I'm leaning toward a nice A3 I found over the weekend. The DSG is addictive! and it even gets better mileage than the manual. Last edited by gsodonis; 03-23-2008 at 03:38 PM. |

Interior pics & others
Here are some more pics that I just took today. I haven't had a chance to vacuum or detail the car, so it may look a bit dusty. I just wanted to get some shots in today for an SVX'er in Canada. I'll have the car detailed this week and take more pictures when it's really clean.
Here's the dash: Driver's seat: Driver's seat again (make note of the Dk.gray/black Alcyone floor mats from Dayle at Motorsport Warehouse - these things are plush and last forever. They do need a good cleaning, but the black hides it well: Passenger seat: Passenger seat again: Rear seat: Engine bay with new Red Top battery: Engine bay with new alternator and silicone rad hose visible: More later Last edited by gsodonis; 03-23-2008 at 03:06 PM. |

Birth certificate
Proof of the car's 2-owner provenance:
Here's a copy of my SVX's very first title in Illinois. It shows that the car was purchased new 9/28/1991. The previous title was MCO (Manufacturers Certificate of Origin), so the 2757 miles on the title indicates to me that this was a well driven demo model. I'm the only other owner from 9/4/04 til now: Here's the invoice from just yesterday morning when I had the alignment re-checked for free - thank the $107 lifetime alignment from Firestone. I try to have the alignment checked every 6 months. Here are the alignment specs (before and after(actual)). All four wheels were within manufacturer's specified range for camber, caster and toe, but the right front camber was right at the limit, so I had them adjust it to get it closer to mid range of the spec. More pics later |

Tranny
I'll take some pics of the rust when it's light out (as long as it doesn't rain tomorrow) and I'll have them up later in the week.
The tranny is out of a 2002 WRX. The syncros are in great shape, no grinding in any of the gears. But just as anyone with a bugeye WRX knows, just don't try to jam the lever into 1st while the car is rolling. Easy, deliberate gearchanges result in a smooth ride as if the SVX always came with a stick. With the stock WRX clutch and flywheel, clutch takeup and engagement is like driving a stock (but a bit heavy) WRX. Last summer, I had Earl Duff Subaru put it on a rack so I could check into a clunking noise. It turned out to be one torn stock engine mount. I donated the stockers to Mike @ ECUTune and installed the STi Gruppe N mounts (two at the engine and at one the tranny.) While on the rack, I had Earl Duff service the tranny, front and rear diffs, so all of the the fluids are really fresh. I forgot to add, all I ever use in my engines is Mobil 1 full synthetic motor oil (10W30 in the winter, 10W40 in the summer) and either a stock Subaru SVX filter or a Purolator (whichever I have on hand at the moment). |

Shifter upgrades
I replaced the stock WRX shift lever (which I still have if anyone wants it) with a B&M short throw. The difference is incredible. It snicks into gears so much easier than before, now that there's less slop (I replaced the stock rubber shifter bushing with Prothane urethane bushings). Not quite as perfect as a Honda S2000, but pretty close.
