Wheels shake

I had a blowout on the highway on my rear passenger wheel. I got over onto the emergency lanes quickly and safely.

I replaced the tires and since replacement my steering wheel vibrates 50% of the time at 30 mph and above.

I have gone back and had the wheels/tires rebalanced and the shop claims its not the wheel balance.

What else could be causing this shaking of the steering wheel.

after ruling out the tire balance (of all 4 tires), i'd look into the allignment.

Bent rim or the bearings got damaged with the weight of the car on the hub.

bearings or a loose something or another, if the wheel was bent they would have known caus it would be really hard to balance

Actually, it depends how it's bent. If it affects the camber movement, then it would be hard to balance. If it affects the radius, you can balance it and won't know it's bent unless you hear it while you drive. Good luck.

I do not know where the blownout rim is now since when the new tires were put on the rims were mixed up.

Assumming the shaking is coming from the front and assumming the bent rim is causing the shaking, if I move the front rims to the back and the back ones to the front that should tell me more. I'll try that this weekend.
