Remote Control for Trunk

Can anyone help with the how to wiring and installation and what one would need to install a remote trunk release?
I have the Subaru after market keyless entry & ignition disable sys. and the diagram shows a location for the trunk wire. Could I connect that to a relay in the trunk somehow with a solenoid. The remote control button does not have room for it. Do I need to use another remote? Would that interact with my antena behind the mirror? I saw a picture of Kuoh's remotr in the trunk and he had a 12v wire connected to a solenoid but I think I would also require a relay?

I'm not sure how to go about this set-up and I would welcome any help I could get with the installation of a Remote Trunk Release.

Thanks......Ralph

If I remember correctly, someone did that. Do a search and you may find out how they did it. I will try to find the thread.

on most that I use you press the unlock/disarm button twice quick to activate an add-on solinoid.

Thanks guys, Remote Trunk Info.

Thanks Earl and Speedklix. I never thought about bouble clicking the Transmitter. I will continue searching as all info. is valuable. At this point it looks like I might be able to use the transmitter and plug in to the black box that say.s trunk.

Since the black box connection is 500mA negative if attached it to one side of the solenoid then I would think that a 12v wire attached to the other side of a solenoid would work?

Bye for now.........Ralph

That sounds right to me as well. Many items on the SVX have a constant +12V feed and a switching ground.
