Driver side door lock jammed?
Hi guys,
Seems like my door lock on the driver's side is not working, or stuck. I usually lock the door from outside and this time, it got stuck, and can't open the door anymore. The lock nob from inside is also frozen... can't open from inside as well. ![]() I forced the nob up slightly so that I can open the door from inside. The door opened. I took the inner door panel out and checked, seems like the actuator is the one got stuck. Is this easy repair or just go get another parts...? Your thoughts are great help.. thanks! -Ryu

I have heard that the actuators sometimes go bad and the best thing to do is get another one and install it. That should do it. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Mine get stuck like that if I grab the handle while its releasing usually just forcing it up or down usually does the trick.

Once you get it open , remove the fuse for the door locks (Found next to your left foot under the dash. .Now you can lock the pass side and use the key to lock and unlock the driver side . Just like back in the 60's before the power locks.

If you do go after an actuator from a board member's parts car, they changed the connectors in 94. The wiring is the same, but the connector itself is different. Try to grab one from a 92, or be prepared to hardwire it in if 94 and above.

Thanks guys~! I'll try my best to fix this!
After 3 months of leaving my car ( I was sent to Hong Kong) I noticed that the door lock motor was slow and nearly stopped. And it actually stopped and stuck. ![]() It was kinda interesting to see the door lock mechanism and glass window inside of the door panel.. ![]() Again, thanks for your inputs! ![]() ![]() -Ryu

The door locks do get gummed up and stick if they're not used often.
I thought mine were fine until an accident forced me to get it replaced. When working properly there should be no resistance when turning the key to unlock the door. (Basically the same resistance as if the door was already unlocked)
