I watched the History Channel this morning. I finally understand the chonology and what happened in the battles in the revolutionary war. It seems that general Howe kicked the crap out of GW and his American troops in the Phila. area. Meanwhile Ethan Allen was kicking British butt in Vermont while in upstate NY, Benedict Arnold tied up the Bristish army & navy on Lake Champlain and at Saratoga. It seems that Arnold was a much better miltary stategist than Washington. I would really like to see a story about his life and the real reasons that he turned traitor. He seemed like a very very complicated man.
To me it seems that the revolutionary war was Britain's Viet Nam. It's a pity that we did'n't learn from it.

LIBERTY Most of the men who signed the Declaration on this date in 1776 were men of means, and almost all lost everything....fortunes, land, homes, families, health, and even their lives....during the Revolution. They pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor so that we might enjoy the blessings of liberty. Would that we still had men like that today.... Happy 4th everyone! Don

From what I saw on the news today, you shouldn't pull on any brightly colored red, white, or blue ribbons. We ought to have an SVX meet in Phily in Oct/Nov. We can visit the Liberty Bell, Constitution Center, run up the steps of the Art Museum (ala Rocky) . Then we could all drive down to South Philly to get cheesesteaks.
