So, its back to square one for the pearlie. What do you think OT should do with this car? Hold it for a $600.00 ransom, or tell the guy he is removing it from his property and to come and get it?

The parts that were in the Pearlie were purchased by said (unsaid) customer, to be used by him, or her, at their discression.

But when you bring a car here for safe storage FOR SIX MONTHS, that was not part of "the deal".
I live in a nice "country "neighborhood, everybody has about three cars, everybody has two acres or more, some of them MUCH more (46-225 acres!)
I now have about 15 SVXi, four trucks, and one 17" boat, kinda making my yard stand out.

I think a certified letter is in order provided that there is a clause that there is no responsibility claim after X number of days.

Also, my silver could use a fresh spare motor

Not sure if that would hold up under a "handshake" agreement. There is no written contract, just a verbal agreement.

Re: Thanks to SVXfiles' customers....

There is such a thing as "usual and customary" practices and charges. I believe in my locale one of the many business regulating authorities have defined what the usual and customary charge for storage is in absence of an agreement. It might be worth a few phone calls to see if it is the same there. I believe they will also have methods for declaring it abandoned and taking ownership of it. There should be some method in place to prevent Tom from getting stuck storing this guys car without payment.

Re: Thanks to SVXfiles' customers....

I missed a lot not being much on the forum these days.
Tom, hope your injury is not serious, wish you a speedy recovery.

Too bad about the issue with your customer. Some people have no sense of logic or dignity in life. Either you can afford a job to be done or not, but do not low ball good people after they have done exhausting work for you not to mention going overboard. Wish you can tag them as in Facebook lol.

Btw John (svxcess), have you received my email?

Re: Thanks to SVXfiles' customers....

Hi Danny.
It will soon be eight months since my accidental self inflicted injury.
I just want feeling back in my hand.

As to the customer, I really liked him as a person, but unfortunately he really does not have a clue as to what he did.
It makes me sad.
