These repeated appearances are kind of making me want to keep mine... (it's for sale) They are very underrated cars, and I think people are starting to realize that. Not that it fixes any of the issues they do have, but it does make me feel a little warm and fuzzy inside.

Jalopnik has always looked upon the SVX favorably but usually includes a shot at the transmission lack of manual/reliability

It's kind of interesting that now there are multiple SVXii for sale around the country listing for over $10k...not that I think they're really worth that yet, but maybe the value for a good one will start going up, especially for the 1996-1997 cars. I certainly don't see them depreciating more; they sell for less than accords/camrys/american sedans of the same vintage all day long right now.
