NEW, OEM Subaru Cup Holders
PICS HERE: http://rides.webshots.com/album/5793...Xt?vhost=rides
Don't bother going to see if your dealer can get you one, these WERE the last four in North America. This is your last chance to snag an OEM, factory issued cup holder for your SVX. Many on this forum think they are useless and get in the way, but in my experience, this is untrue. I'm 6'1" with long arms and legs. I sit low and far back in my SVX. My elbow has never once hit a drink in the cup holder. I can keep it in the center console, along with all my other crap. Even with a drink sitting in it, there is room in the center console for stuff. Anyway, the last four OEM cup holders... Looking to get $45 SHIPPED (in the U.S.) for each. Got questions or a trade offer? Send me a PM. |

Re: NEW, OEM Subaru Cup Holders
So you saw that there were only 4 left available, bought them, and have doubled the price? I was thinking about buying one until I looked the part number up on 1stsubaruparts.com. If thats the case, shame on you...

Re: NEW, OEM Subaru Cup Holders
Yea I'd agree if it were an essential mechanical part of the car, but it's just a cupholder. You can probably make one that works better for cheaper anyway.

Re: NEW, OEM Subaru Cup Holders
Please don't hijack my thread, if you want a cupholder, speak up, if not... Keep your opinions to yourself, please.
Those who want them will buy them, those who don't, won't. Everything costs money Cam. I can't do free shipping or packaging. I don't know if you know this, but it costs money to drive to the post office. I paid $35+ each for them, so I think that is a reasonable price. In any case, what do you care if I make a few bucks off it, Cam? I could have not alerted the network members to the dwindling supply. I can just sit on these forever, waiting until mine breaks. As for fabricating your own, go for it! I'm excited to see what you come up with! For the record, the OEM holder is pretty well engineered for the job it needs to do; namely, hold a cup until the drink is empty, then disappear. Sure it's not integrated, but its small, lightweight, cheap to manufacture and design and is actually functional. For all the talk over the years about how s****y these things are, I don't see a whole lot of alternatives being offered up (except for the Wedgie) by enterprising members like yourself, Cam. Quote:
2) I understand everything cost money. It also cost more money for someone to purchase something, and then resell it. Forum members could have had these cheaper from the dealer. You don't see someone buying the last 3 blue windshields and selling them for 2 grand justifying the cost through unnecessary shipping. 3) You could have just made a post saying the part was on its last legs for availability. 4) I have not used an OEM cupholder but I do have a wedgie. I will say I am not happy with the wedgie; I feel it does too much wear on the side of the seat being removed everytime I have a passenger. It does it's job, though. When I fab one, I will most likely make one that is extremely similar to the OEM one. I will probably take flat stock and place a couple of holes in it. Well, there I go hijacking your thread again...second apologies. GLWS
