Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Today the girlfriend pointed out to me that the farm cats have been using the rear passenger side of my car as a scratching post while it was parked for the winter...

And yes, that is down to bare metal.

Took the teal back to the shop to have a defective front wheel bearing replaced. Didn't last a month.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

got CEL for O2 sensor heater control ckt, ordered new sensor from online Subaru parts dealer, took car apart, and realized connector isn't right.

oh, 2005 LGT's may have two different style front O2 sensor connectors - stupid me!
what would have been a 20 minute job is ongoing after looking for soldering gun, splicing, soldering, liquid electrical tape all over my hands .....

with the O2 sensor i also ordered replacement side mirror glass for my wife's FXT that had been cracked for the last couple months. i managed to crack the new one, too. goodbye $67, i hardly knew you.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Well this is what I did since the end of January.

Put in drop springs, ECUtune Stage 1 ecu and tcu, put in the energy suspension front sway bar mounts, put some nicer looking rims on, a 97 grill, made my own custom CAI, and I put custom Rear LED Tails in.
I will be putting nevins rear sway bar on.
Interior wise I put in a touch screen dvd player.
For the past few weeks I have only Looked at it or driven it have not had to do any work to it for a while im very happy about that.

My son-in-law did it, will ask him this weekend when I go to check on progress, but he did say it wasn't to difficult.

Bought a K & N air filter for it. Have been shopping for a new entertainment system for it too.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Took the Beast to the shop and had them put on my ac idler pulley/belt and find out where my leak for the exhaust is. Turns out it's up near the exhaust manifold?, hard telling how much that will cost to get fixed as they don't specialize in that kind of work... but I feel like I got a solid Win! for the $45 install of the pulley!

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Try replacing the manifold to block gaskets and pre cat gaskets. they are cheap. make sure you torque them properly. you can easily do this yourself.
