SVX LED Taillights

I would SO do these LED tail lights before messing with trying to fit lambo doors, or re-working the engine and engine bay for a turbo.

But I would probably fix bad paint, maintenance items, and fix the seat upholstery in my car before putting LED tails in.

I'd also be tempted to do $500 tail lights on an SVX destined to end up in nicer condition than my current SVX that has an un-resolved accident history. That is half what I paid for the whole car.

quick question, could this be done with red leds instead of yellow for the turn signals? That, with a red transparent vinyl, I think would make for a very clean look.

I could be done. You could even used red spray tint on the lenses too.

I would think the red vinyl would be better since it would provide some protection to the lenses. (right?)

It is interesting how some cars have amber turns signals in the rear, and others have red.

At some point I thought it was required to have amber turn signals in the rear, but since I've been actually paying attention lately, I've seen a lot of new model cars with red turn signals back there.

So I would assume doing this would be within legal guidelines too.*

*Of course converting your tails to LED itself may be a cloudy area legally. But mine looks pretty much stock (especially considering most people don't even know what a SVX is supposed to look like) and has all the required viewing angle, brightness, etc.

In Japan as well as a few other countries, it is required to have amber turn signals. In the US however, they can obviously be either red or amber. That is why most domestic made vehicles end up not having amber turn signals and most imports from Japan do have amber signals.
