I am flexible on what the car will come with to adjust the price. this used to be Gsodonis's car...be advised some parts have changed and or been removed from this thread..http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...t=speed&page=3 Asking price: $6500 I am selling because this car does not need any "real" work. For some reason I buy these cars and fix them then get bored with them, Guess im trying to keep as many alive and on the road as I can. I have 2 more cars to fix...one is at the body shop and the other is at my parents house...Im sure they (or one of them) will be for sale too when Im done fixing/painting them as well. I will always have at least one though I will take some more pics with interior shots this evening...its been raining here for a week

Re: F/S Gold 1992 SVX 5 Speed
I just came to the realization that this used to be Michael Lai's car. (The original owner.) I'm shocked to see it in that paint color! Michael was a very active member back when the network was just starting, and was the host of the famous Midwest Meet.

Re: F/S Gold 1992 SVX 5 Speed
WTF is with everyone selling their cars? Did I miss the memo or something? I saw this car at the pumpkin carve. The color looks better in person.

I can more than vouch for this car, considering that a most of the work was done by me (I had Huck do the timing belt and cam seals - credit where credit's due). Here was the list of mods and upkeep when Eric bought it from me. Type of wheels: Set 1 (on the car): 18” Enkei RS-6 w/ Gorilla lug nuts, no curb rash. Set 2: Full set of four stock SVX wheels w/2 Full set of factory SVX lug nuts. Center caps are in great shape, color matches the rest of the wheels – no fade. Interior condition: Leather excellent – no rips, or tears, almost no wear marks. Treated with Lexol cleaner & conditioner 2X/year Good carpets New driver’s side door sill, Dec. 2007 Have stock, gray Subaru floor mats (decent) in addition to the Motorsports Warehouse Black ones Body condition: No accidents Typical misc small dings and chips Typical Paint - not perfect. Hood could use a serious machine buffing Typical rear wheel well arch rust - passenger side only Two rust bubbles, passenger door only Typical fading of clearcoat on both rear sail panels Paint chipping on leading edge of rear wing Known defects or problems: Cruise control switch – sometimes it takes a few tries to get it to stay on - have a good spare switch Rear wiper switch – doesn’t always work – have a good spare clock spring and combo switch assembly Typical sagging drivers side visor – passenger side is OK EGR pipe (from stock passenger side cast exhaust header to EGR valve) leaks. You can replace it or block it (pinch it) off Center console (armrest) button missing – have new replacement Subaru button Sunroof needs an occasional nudge to open, but works perfectly otherwise The before mentioned rust – I’m a mechanical perfectionist, so that has always been my focus. Huck has a replacement wheel arch panel from his spare car that I’m sure you can negotiate away from him if you try hard enough Front rotors could stand to be replaced – I have a brand new set of gold zinc plated (made in the USA) Power Stop, cross drilled rotors, F & R Comments about the car: Adult owned & driven, fanatically maintained, daily driver 2-owner SVX: I purchased it from Michael Lay (long time member & still occasional lurker of these boards) on 9/4/2004 - I have a photocopy of the Illinois title showing the SVX was originally registered to the Lai family with 2757 miles on the odometer on 10/24/91 Did I mention no leaks of any kind - rear diff bushings from Entsteele. This was for an upgrade – the stockers are still fine - new rear tail light seals - new Subaru center console (under the armrest) button - spare Subaru temp sensor Erics is obviously a perfectionist and took the SVX to another level altogether. If I had the funds, I would buy this right back from him. If the car still doesn't want to start on occasion, it probably just needs another ignition switch (not the key cylinder, but the switch behind the key cylinder. When I replaced it the first time, the problem went away COMPLETELY. Eric good luck with the sale. I like what you've done with her. |

Re: F/S Gold 1992 SVX 5 Speed
OK Ive been getting crap from multiple angles ...well not really crap, but the majority of it from the wife and my buddy John who helped fix her have been gnawing at me about selling the car. The big picture is I would be loosing too much car and then have to re-invest too much money to do it all again.
My decision to sell the car has changed. Can a Moderator please lock or delete this thread. My apologies to those interested in it. Stress has recently diluted my reasoning.

Re: F/S Gold 1992 SVX 5 Speed
I understand that life and times change and people move on. But lately it just seems like a trend. Glad to see the car is staying put. I hope to see you at more meets in the future.
Btw I know exactly how you feel about extra projects...i now have not only the svxs to work on, but a Fiero and a Cadillac.

I'm glad you've decided to keep her - at least until I find the money to buy her back someday.
I love what you've done. |
