Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

I collect old magazines with reviews of cars I own. Today the May 1992 issue of Car Australia magazine arrived in the post which features a four page write up on the Aussie version of the SVX. I'll add it to the stack. When I finally get my hands on a good flatbed scanner, I'll start uploading the articles.

Practiced making double-flared lines on spare brake line tubing but failed horribly. Anyone have any tips? The flaring adapter doesnt seem to be seating evenly and ends up bending the neck of the tube.

Got my svx back from OT's after nearly a six month sabbatical. Tom just wanted to publicly thank you for putting a SMILE back on my face.

YOU CALL THAT A SMILE? I remember your comments on your (sometimes 100mph) return trip to CT. Sounded more like

Most likely you have too much tubing above the clamp. The base of the adapter should have a shoulder that is the same height as how much tubing should be sticking out. You are flaring with the adapter first and then the 45 degree taper after, right?

P.S. make sure your cuts are perfectly square. Use a sharp tubing cutter.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Went to the local pick n pull. Got a non droopy visor, Center console door, front license plate bracket, and the center brake bar.
On the way back I saw a fellow SVXer. I'm guessing their the one that pulled off a bunch of other pieces.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

TRUNK STRUTS!!!
(By Lift Supports Depot)

Kit came with perfect stroke and strength struts, and short low profile mounting bolts. Only took me 30 minutes, a couple of wrenches, and a drill with a 1/4" bit.
It's definitely worth the $20 more than you'd spend at the hood strut website.

Also made a trip to the junkyard, as you can tell by the intake snorkel in the picture.
Mine's full of cracks and broken nipples
