Yep, LED bulbs for the license plate (I think there are some on ebay) and the sidemarkers to, if they exist.
I've got led bulbs in the front blinkers, can find out what they are if you want.

It's nice... but the $500 price tag makes it ultimately far from a reasonable and justified purchase for cars that need a lot of attention in other areas. Nevin's swaybar would be a 10x a better investment than something like this. Especially with DIY factor involved in messing around with lenses and other crap.

It's a luxury item, that's for sure. :/

What drives the cost up like that? Is it the LEDs or the labor or what?

The quality LEDs aren't cheap and I put 25 hours of work into one set.

Wow, 25 hours? I was considering attempting a set myself, but if you already know what you're doing and it took you that long, then no way I'm trying that.

The lights are nice. That said, you should look at what can be done to reduce costs. More space between the LEDs so you can use less of them, etc. Maybe some cheaper LEDs. That's the only way you're going to flesh out your list.

As someone else mentioned, these are certainly a luxury item.

But rating it against a swaybar is not necessary and full of opinion. Some people just want to update the looks of the car (LEDs), some want to upgrade the performance (swaybar). Saying one is more important than the other is opinion.

There are a lot of folks on here that think the SVX handling is just about perfect the way it is and spending money on a swaybar and going against the original Subaru engineering is a crime. Any mod can be, and is, argued against. (Personally, I'd be interested in a swaybar if it proves itself.)

A more valid point may be most SVXes out there right probably are in the position where $500 could be better spent on some maintenance. Or put into the replacement transmission fund, etc.

But for those that are interested in LED technology and the look and increased safety factor (there is some which I've already witnessed), and can afford it without neglecting other needs on their car, this is it.

These are backed by countless hours of research for the best parts and methods by an electrical engineering student. This is the 3rd or 4th car these have been designed for, as Chris has already produced dozens of conversions for Toyota trucks and the Acura NSX. The experience and craftsmanship is already there, and has been real-world tested and proven for a long time on those other cars.

All that said, I agree that if Chris could figure out some way to make the kits less expensive (without compromising the above mentioned factors), he could proably sell more to the SVX community.

But I have no idea if that is possible.

+1 I love these but sadly am busy in the process of getting and fixing up a few SVX at the moment. I would love to have these and while the price seems a bit steep, as said above, it's proven to work.

I certainly would not want to compromise any of the quality. I might be ok with a few less LEDs in the brake lights but I would have to see the result.

As it is I would buy the unit for $500, might even have done already if I hadn't just dipped into the mod funds for the Nevbar.

I guess if the person behind you doesn't see you hit the brakes it'll be because you've blinded them.

Re: SVX LED Taillights

wow, these turned out really nicely! I too wish I could afford the hefty price tag, but for me it's a luxury item that comes well along the list below my suspension items, turbo/engine build and some lightening aspects. I prob won't have the funds to do this sort of mod untill I reupholster my seats and do lambo doors etc, all the plush expensive items that don't do jack for performance.

Also the diy aspect of them, like my clear lenses and corners makes me not really want to do it any time soon...cause the front end was a pain in the ass
