Crack open the sunroof. Drop the headliner. Take out the (~6?) bolts that hold the sunroof bracket. It'll drop down into the car.
What do you need to take it out for?

SUNROOF PANEL REMOVAL Retract the sunroof back about 6", now carefully pry down on the sunroof headliner, which is being held in place with 6 push-pins The front row of 3 push-pins are 2" back from the leading edge and 3.5" in from the outer edge, the center pin is 2.25" back. The second row of push-pins is 3.5" in from the sides, the outers are 6.25" back and the center is 6.5" back. The trailing edge is supported with 3 clips, the center one with a locating pin to make it easier to reinstall. The reason for listing the pin locations is, if you know where they are, there is less chance to rip the thin press board and cover. Now that the sunroof headliner is wiggled out of the way, you can clearly see the 6 nuts (10mm) that hold it in. .

You mean the actual panel? No, you'd have to take down the whole assembly in order to do that.

Yea, I mean to take off the actual panel that forms part of the roof you'd need to take down the entire sunroof assembly. Like how John and I said.

You can remove the soft "headliner" moving panel and the sheet metal "roof" moving panel following John's instructions. Without removing any other parts of the headliner or sunroof assembly.
