Translation, please
SVXfiles,
I'm such an expert I don't understand half of your list of mods...but I 'd like to find out what all you've done and it's benefit. Is that your store? Sales and service? What does your dealership sell? Do you do your own work? Whose SVX's? Used to have my own v. similar store here in San Diego specializing in used Porsches...lot of work but fun if you're really into cars. Thanx, WGJ |

I manage the sales side. Sales, service, and hot rodding, custom work, exhaust fabrication. Used cars and trucks, mostly Subaru. Yes, I do almost all of my own work. Under the canopy, what will be my 92 stripped drag car, my son Daves all silver 92, my son Nicks black 96, my 92, my girlfriend Diana's silver 92, and our spare 92 dark teal, that is now "nick06"'s. Yes, it's a lot of work, but it keeps me off the streets.

All I can say is:
PWR DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB!
Install took less than an hour. All you need is a: drain pan 12mm wrench/socket (4 bolts holding top mount) 10mm socket (4 bolts for fans) 10mm nut driver (large hose clamps) 8mm nut driver (small hose clamps) Installation tip: bolt passenerger side fan to new radiator before installation for ease. Pictures in locker: PWR Radiator Pictures More pictures will be added, ran out of daylight. There will have to be a minor mod to the rest of the production batch. The filler cap I think just barley hits the hood. Going to investigate this with some clay tomorrow.

Couple of Questions
Chris,
I am pleased to hear that it has arrived and there seems to be only one small fitting problem with the cap. I have viewed the pictures and have a couple of questions. 1. Will the test fit consist of a full installation? Including the fans and housings? 2. Will you be driving the car with the test fit rad installed? 3. What is the weight comparison between stock and PWR Rad? 4. What is the volume of PWR Rad and a stock rad? I am talking liquid capacity not sound level. 5. Is it possible to get the final product without the PWR logo painted on? 6. Will the outer surface be coated with anything and what color will it turn out to be? 7. What year is the SVX that is the test bed? 8. Where there any changes to size, mounting hardware/location over the years for the SVX? 9. Are there any differences between neck lengths for upper and lower hoses of PWR and stock Rads? If so, are there any modifications needed to hose lengths to allow for these differences? 10. I don't remember my rad having a molten pool of steel looking top to it, has the Rad in the car pictured had some work done to it? If so, was a good stock rad (one without any damage or repairs to structure) sent as a template? Thanks in advance for answering these questions, as well as putting this group buy together Chris. John

Just a moment please
Hey DrX,
I'm still trying to get my tranny oil cooler question answered dammit! Very well thought out and practical questions...with the possible exception of the lame volume joke. Anxious to see the answers because those rads look v. nice. Last time I saw weld fillets like that was on the frame of my hand-made-in-England Rickman road racer. There were relatively few running changes in the SVX's production run. Hopefully the radiator wasn't one of them. So what's the good word Chris? WGJ |
