Cam seal replacement

Can the cam seals be replaced without removing the motor?

Re: Cam seal replacement

Absolutely, but you do have to remove the timing belt and cam pulleys to do it. Good opportunity to do the crank seal and valve cover gaskets while you're in there.

Fairly complex for a novice...are you asking because you heard/had a shop tell you this ?

Re: Cam seal replacement

No,
I'm a pretty good mechanic but was trying to decide how much of a project I was getting into. Good to know this is going to be easier than I was thinking.
Thanks for the input.

Re: Cam seal replacement

Thanks for the link.
A write up and pictures would be nice. Not one of my strong suits but I will see how it goes once I get started.
