I didn't think I would like them but I do. You need fatter rubber though. Those tires don't fill out the wheels. I have 18x8's too...the right tire for them is 255-35-18.

I think they look great on the black.... On a different color I am not too sure though.

Hi Audrey,
I bought them brand new from 1st Subaruparts.com. The cost breakdown is $219ea./wheel, $14ea. for center cap. Due to size of order, they gave me a break on shipping (112lb., from WA. to CT.) Cost was about 1k delivered to my doorstep. I spent 5 weeks trying to find used. Not a lot of wrecked Tribeccas!! Local wrecking yard offered to pull in four from all over the country for $900.00 I saw one on Ebay for $200.00 +shipping of $65.00 I had posted on the SVX world network. About 3 days afetr ordering them, a member offered to sell me a set with tires for $750 + shipping (estimated $150.00) If I could have picked up the wheels or used the oversize Tribecca tires, it would have been a great deal. If you want, I will retreive that email and forward you his address. After about 2 weeks riding, ~180 miles, IMHO PROs Appearance. That Subaru emblem in the center had great value to me, as I was trying to achieve an updated OEM style, but is not a quantifiable feature. Beauty is the eye of the beholder...I feared the "Bling" or "Ricer" look. The offset is perfect, allowing wider tires without rubbing or loading wheel bearings unnecessarily. The hubs fit properly. The wheel is Subaru quality, made in Japan. Although a curb will damage it, I am sure it will take a joke better than a BBS forged lightweight wheel (They were my 2nd choice) Handling and steering response is improved, but just noticably, only when pushed hard. CONs These wheels weigh 25lbs each. The ride is much harder, although not noticable except on road dividers and washboard surfaces... Since this is my garage queen, weekend driver, the harsh ride was a minor factor. Here's a link to see more pix, in higher res... http://www.flickr.com/photos/processengr/

Hrmmm...My opinion would be that they're look better with a dark silver colour, at least on your car, but I have to say, this angle is damn sexy:
And ya, it's nice having genuine Subaru wheels that work.

Part of the "harder" ride might be because of how the tires are fitting the wheels. The side walls shouldn't be bowed out from the tread like that. If you can take the hit I'd order a set of 255-35-18's and sell those 225's in the bargain trader. 36 psi up front 32 psi in the rear...then you'll be looking and riding great.

yes 255-35-18 is the correct size tire for an SVX with 18 inch wheels
the numbers work like this 255 -> 255mm wide 35 -> 35% of 255mm = profile of tire 18 -> fits and 18" wheel a 255 fits an 8 inch wide wheel perfectly a 255-35-18 has a 25" diameter which is correct for an svx If you click the links on my signature to look at my car you can see my wheels and tires. those are 255-35-18 tires on 8" wide wheels. I don't know what the tribeca offset is. Mine is +49 Quote:

Since we are on the subject, what is your opinion of best size for 18x7.5 wheels?

I wouldn't buy such a wheel.....if i got stuck witch such a wheel and had to put tires on it I guess I'd get 225-40-18's.

You wouldn't get it because it's not wide enough for your needs or there is something wrong with the size itself?
