Why I love my SVX
Being a new SVX owner I must admit that I sometimes get a little worried about what I read on this forum in regard to all the problems people have with the SVX. This thread is in response to a couple of negative threads I've read recently. Now I know that this forum brings that out in owners because most of the questions revolve around repairing or asking for help with a particular problem they are having with the car. But I thought it would be fun to hear from all the enthusiasts on the list about what they love about the car and why they drive one.
As I say I've only owned mine a month but the three things I like about it are: 1) The unique styling that seems to stand the test of time. 2) Responsive handling and get-up-and go power. 3) The overall size of the car. For a sporty ride it is neither too big, nor too small. Feel free to add to the list. It's time we bragged about the cars on this list.

I call that feeling one gets from reading doom-and-gloom posts here, "SVX hypochondria." You start imagining things are going wrong.
There's not much about my cars I don't like, and I tend to take them for granted in the daily commute. But after a road trip such as my drive to visit Mom last Sunday, I'm reminded what an awesome "touring" car the SVX really is. One very sweet ride. dcb |

Best car ever. Handles great, and acclerates enough to put a big grin on my face.It looks like nothing else on the road (except the ford probe), and you can drive in the rain with the windows down. The car has more standard accesories than most cars NOW have as options...and at a fraction of the cost.
The best part about owning an svx...and lets admit this...Its this community. Sure, you may get a little upset reading all the broken stuff threads....but you know..thats what we're here for. Helping eachother out, keeping them alive. I would have NEVER been abele to pull a motor, tranny...fix exhausts, leaky hoses, gaskets, radiators..swap seat cusions, interiors, ect. without the help of others in this community. Also the meets are awesome...There's great people on this board thall always be ready to make you laugh and help you out. Thats the best part about owning an svx

1) The unique styling that seems to stand the test of time.
2) Responsive handling and get-up-and go power. 3) The overall size of the car. For a sporty ride it is neither too big, nor too small. 4) In the first week I've been asked "What is that?" three times. 5) In the first week I've had a girl ask me if I'm single.

I think many of us who are not experiencing problems hesitate to praise our SVX's for fear of jinxing the car.

I agree with all of you...plus..
I watched a guy walk into a pole while looking at my car trying to figure out what it was. AND My dirty SVX was getting more looks than the Viper parked near it at a gas station.

I love the way it takes turns. Smooth and quiet. The question, "What the hell is that?" and the memories I had in my other one. Who says you cant go back?

I discovered how to make it go into power mode when i want it to recently
The car is great, i love it. It handles like a champ, it's quick, and will soon be quicker. Sure it might have something go wrong with it fromt ime to time, but if it does, i can fix it, myself. New cars, something goes wrong, it's infinantly more difficult to fix, because they're not making cars user-servicable anymore. It's unique, another excuse to not have to give my heavy-set friends a ride, and it's very comfortable.

To me, it's the way I fit in the seat. I feel like it's an extension of me. I get this feeling only in the SVX. Sound crazy?

1. The styling. I can sit and just look at it and it's always interesting to me. I cannot think of a single car, at any price, that I would replace it with. That says a lot.
2. The uniqueness of it. The windows. The knowledge that I'm basically driving a concept car. 3. The SVX community. Great people and friends, just as unique and interesting as the car itself. 4. Let's see...ohyeah, the way it drives! Smooth and quiet, then you look down at the speedometer and start grinning like a cat. I love it.

Ditto......
Ditto, Ditto and DITTO to all of the above......
I wanted one 10 years ago when prices were to high for me and now that I have one....it is everything I thought it was and enjoy the hell out of it. At the money I have in it now....I can afford a few expensive repairs. Believe me unless you have a Civic, most cars are going to be expensive in repairs. Dave |

Oh, another one for me:
How every time I drive it it always feels like there's so much more there that isn't being used. It's like the car is waiting for me to go, and is kind of laughing at what I just tried to do.
