I think if I can handle stopping 7,000 pounds with rear ABS, I think the SVXs 3500 lbs with 4 wheel ABS should be easier to handle :-P

lol, I'm used to working with 4000 lbs of badly balanced, summer-tired non-ABS (by special order from factory), Ford Taurus. An SVX with racing slicks would be better in the winter.

I bought a set of Toyo Observe Garit tires last winter and love them. They are just as good if not better than the Blizzaks. I bought the 225/50-16's and they have an H speed rating.

I looked into the Toyo's, which are only sold by Les Schwabs(I believe). They actually cost more than the Hakki's

I purchased mine from a local tire shop here in town and they were about $110/tire mounted and balanced. I could have bought the Blizzak's cheaper through mail order but after shipping costs and mounting fees by a tire shop in town they ended up costing more than the Toyo's. All the local stores were out of the Bridgestone's so I tried the Toyo's and I'm glad I did.

Alright, so I just took a quick look on tirerack.com and Blizzak Revo 1's are on clearance for $85 each. Total order: $520 U.S. ($490 Canadian at current rates) Not too shabby. I'll be fitting them once the car is back on the road with new bearings and restored rear suspension.
