Re: Why does this car like so much timing?
Quite frankly... the ms3 might be cheaper but the hydra us a lot easier. Pnp and load one of my maps and you are running well enough to get to the tuner. No trigger mods no external coils. Plug it in and run a vacuum hose.

Re: Why does this car like so much timing?
Agreed. But I am hoping to get it developed and setup to a similar point. For the price difference and the added *fun* of figuring it out I'd rather go for the MS. Might never be 100% pnp, but hopefully I can get it close.

I can always use this experience to build my resume for side-jobs and make a few bucks on the side too. Just another tool in the tool box . Nope, a legacy. From the DIYPNP site, it should be 99% plug and play with their revision card which adds COP for up to 8 cylinders and supports our 12 tooth crank gear. Unless I'm misreading something. Re: Why does this car like so much timing?
Hey Nassir, for the cam sensor, there is a small notch on the backside of the cam wheel that it picks up. So yes, it's a 1 "tooth" setup.

*edit* here's what I found from diyautotune. Good read for beginners, even though I knew most of this, but some of it is new and helpful. http://www.megamanual.com/begintuning.htm Last edited by BackWoodsBob; 10-12-2012 at 01:13 PM. |

Re: Why does this car like so much timing?
I probably won't get too much time to work on it until this weekend.
