The removal of escaine dash pieces
I'm planning on having all the light grey escaine trim pieces in my car rewrapped with black suede very soon. I have all the pieces removed and ready to go except for the piece on the passenger side dash and the piece on the drivers side below the steering wheel with coin holder and assorted switches in it. How hard is it to remove these pieces and what does it entail? Do I have to remove the whole dash?

the piece on the drivers side below the steering wheel
has 2 bolts one behind the coin thing and the other on the the other side behind
one of the steering wheel column. These switches just pop out and you will see the bolts. Think they are 12 mm and a screwdriver will work as well. with the bolts removed, there are a couple of plastic things that just need a tug on the thing to remove. Best I remember, there is a little light on the bottom that takes a screwdriver for the one screw. You have quick disconnects for the switches take can be unplugged once the covered piece is lose. with this done you probably can work out the other thing Take care, Keith |

Kwren has it covered pretty well for the drivers side. The passenger will probably be harder
I think Eric has mucho experience with the dash, if he doesn't see this thread, send a PM to "Itsjusteric"

no pm's needed.
they prettymuch ave the drivers thing nailed. All you need to do is gently pry out the switches and coin holder, and remove the 10mm bolts behind them. There are a few snap in fittigs that you'll have to jar loose to remove the piece. The light bulb at the bottom can simply be twisted and pulled from it's bracket. The parking lights, winter mode, and mirror switched will need to be unplugged The passenger side dash is a major pain in the ass. Im pretty sure from the factory they are attached before the dash goes in, but if I remember rightly, you can acess all the screws from behind the glovebox Removing the glovebod basicly entails unscrewing every nut, bolt, screw, or fastener you see. From there, wit a mirror and some lght, you ought to be able to see the arrayof screws that hold the two remaining dash pieces in

Hey guys, thanks for all the replies. I should be dropping off all the pieces in the next few weeks because I'd really like to get my car back together. I'll let everyone know how it all goes and don't worry I plan on posting plenty of pics when its done. I still need to decide if I'm going to put a screen in the passenger side dash piece.

I've redone mine with black fake leather. It looks great. Anyway the passenger side is a pain. As mentioned, you need to take the glove compartment apart. Take pictures, notes or mark the locations where the screws belong because there is alot of different sizes. When I put the dash back together, I was left with some extra screws. Good luck!

Hey, figured I'd give everyone a quick update. I have been busy with work and have been a slacker on my days off, but I finally dropped off my suede interior pieces to have redone. The shop owner said they should be done by next friday.
