Subaru SVX mentioned in MSNBC article
Not the best article about the new GT-R, but the SVX is mentioned at the end along with the Supra, NSX and RX-7...

It was DEFFINETLY expensive when it was new... +30,000 back in 1998, I've always considered the SVX as Subaru's 300ZX or Supra

screw that, if only it didnt weight as much as the tow truck that towed mine in. my only two real faults with this car is a) it only came in auto, which is soon to be remedied and B) the incredible curb weight. 3500 or so for the lsi in 94?! yes, i am going to be one of those idiots that drives around with nothing but the dash, both door panels and seats. i dont care. if it looses 5 lbs, id be happy. i hear removeing all the wireing from everything you remove adds up quick. well see! anyhow, i cant wait to see the new skylines on the street somewhere sometime!!

Yeah the weight is a real killer for SVXs. BTW the new Skylines weigh in at just under 4000lbs. Too bad that won't effect the 500hp too much

...And recent STI's were only a few hundred pounds lighter as well...
Also bill, the svx was meant to be on par with the 300zx and 3kgt, but not their turbocharged counterparts, the TT and VR4. So....make a tt svx and it sould be right on target

Weight is increased... but also the SAFE factor, the "cage" design around the passengers its way hevier nowadays than it was before... also the techonolgy allows to have smaller or lighter engines that make twice the power they used to. I agree, 350Z's are damn heavy from what a Z used to be... but they car stand a pretty big hit and roll overs....
