It was -26°C here in Winnipeg a few days back with a high of -18°C. I actually decided to pull out the winter coat for that day
If GM decided to make a decent looking, relatively reliable AWD car I would still consider it.

Subaru isn't a gm brand btw. GM needed cash, subaru wasn't nice in giving into their demands for an awd system that would work in a non-boxer engine so Subie stock was sold. Now the new Suzuki is a car I'd buy over the not-so-impresive hands down, provided it does decently in its crash rating and it passes my test drive on that first snowy day we get here. Side curtain airbags front and rear, selectable fwd, awd and 50-50 all for under $16k nicely equipped with what a 10 year 120k warranty. Just wish it was the swift instead. |

An SVX if it were a Chevy? Hard to say. My general rule is for small cars go import and for trucks go domestic. The Ridgeline is NOT a truck.

If you're talking 30kish money for it then I don't think you could find a higher rated vehicle than the Tribeca. Granted its only slightly more attractive than an Aztek, prefers premium fuel and is as quick as your average slug. Most every other catagory it is near the top in. It just kinda depends on the 6th or 7th in size. The 3rd row is pretty small, 2nd row can be small to HUGE with the adjustable seat! The Pilot is unbeatable IMO for on road SUV and you'll see upper 20s in the mpg on highway stints something which is unheard of in most suvs its size. |

If I wanted a 4 seat with an open bed and needed to tow 5000ish I would look no further. It wins that class hands down although I wouldn't use it the same way I use my F-250. |

I am looking for a possibility of a new suv...we wont be going with an explorer, because we cannot afford the support the transmission specialist any longer(maybe they have the issues fixed by now, who freakin knows but not for us again!) Any ideas on the best ratings and prices out there? Theres 5 of us and frequently have a 6th- 7th with us. Any ideas?[/QUOTE]
Take a look at the '07 Hyundai Tuscon (or was it the Santa Fe?). Anyway a local write-up rated it better than Honda's & Toyota's offerings, & for a lot less bucks. The Japanese better start sweatin' bullets. Ron.

IF it was a Chevy, I would still buy an SVX given the same design and quality. However, I never would have had to make that decision as the "quality" aspect would have kept it from ever being a Chevy product. Lee
