Proper way to siphon wine from a box

When decanting, proper de-boxing etiquette demands that the straw be inserted in the nostril, as we, of proper breeding, insist that the wine breath, prior to imbibing, or; as we say in circles of better taste, guzzling... OR to further elaborate... 'Tis a good wine, but s'not a great wine.
